Good Morning,

Ok, I’ll be the first to admit that I may be overly optimistic. But with all the bad news we’ve been hearing lately, I couldn’t help but grasping on to a few golden nuggets of hope that came our way recently!

I was encouraged when I read Monday’s Associated Press  headline which declared “Existing-home sales rose 5% in February!”  The article when on to say “The National Association of Realtors said Monday that sales of existing homes grew 5.1 percent to an annual rate of 4.72 million last month, from 4.49 million units in January. It was the largest sales jump since July 2003.” This is definitely good news if you ask me. I am also sure that by now you’ve heard Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke’s proclamation that “… we’ll see the recession coming to an end probably this year.” I am sure that, for many people, his words helped signal the beginning of the end of the deepest recession in decades! I, for one, look to his revelation as a flickering light at the end of a very long dark tunnel!

But wait; there are more lights at the end of the tunnel! President Obama has included $8,000 in tax credits for first time home buyers in his Economic Stimulus plan! With interest rates at or near all time lows, and housing starts on the upswing, I would think buyers should start looking pretty seriously this spring. That light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter already!

I say all this way to encourage you in your efforts to sell more homes, and to introduce you to our home inspection company. Homestead Inspection Service has been around since 1999, but has had a very low key existence. Now we are poised to expand our service and are looking to ride the wave of growth as the economy recovers.

Our motto is “Improving the home ownership experience, on home at a time.” And that is really what we try to do. It is my belief that an educated buyer will be a better homeowner, and thus will have a better homeownership experience. Homestead Inspection Service offers Pre-purchase Home Inspections, Foreclosure Inspections, and Buyer Orientations. We specialize in first time buyers, taking time to answer questions and explain things that a more experienced buyer may already know.
